The British Council, through the NSRP in partnership with NIALS, embarked on a field research project aimed towards obtaining and testing perceptions on the past and current state of insurgency along with its impact, victim’s coping strategies, community perceptions of justice, healing, reconciliation as well as the possibility of reintegrating penitent insurgents so as to achieve enduring peace in the northeast.

The Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT) Conference is an annual event for law teachers in Nigeria. This year’s conference which is the 50th annual General Conference (Golden Jubilee Edition) was hosted by Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, in Anambra State with the theme; LAW, SECURITY AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT”. The theme of the conference remains relevant considering the security situation of Nigeria and the world at large. It also underscores the impact of insecurity on our National Development.

Representatives of the University of Kent UK recently visited the Director-General, NIALS, Professor Adedeji Adekunle at the Lagos Office. Dr Anthony Manning, Dean for Internationalisation, led the Delegation.

The Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) Train the Trainers workshop which was organised in conjunction with United Nations Development Project (UNDP) with the support of the Japanese Government is designed to further equip the Law enforcement agents to assume the role of trainers, facilitators and experts in counter-terrorism trainings that are tailored to address the issues of victim and witness protection, de-radicalization and peace building process.
